2017 Thunderbird District "Scout to Adventure" Weekend

REGISTRATION Extended Through Monday, March 27th!

Once again the staff is going all out to bring you back to SCOUTING BASICS! We have chosen a nice secluded ranch near Blanco.  This wonderful camp consists of over 2600 acres close to a little known place called Wessendorf Ranch on the Devil's Back Bone.  (see map at Boy Scouts, Teams, Posts, Crews and Ships are all welcome to participate!

Some of the activities will blow your mind!  With the assistance of all the youth and adult volunteers, we wish you luck!  Your unit will be competing scout skills; concentrating on Pioneering and First Aid.  Regardless of ability-level, there will be fun, exciting challenges for all

For younger scouts, there will be the chance not only to compete for the honor of their unit, but also to fulfill rank requirements in some areas!  More experienced scouts will have an opportunity to take on bigger challenges!  There is even a backcountry program for older scouts 14 and older.

To register for this event, you'll need to know the ranks of those scouts you are registering, whether they plan to participate in the Front-country or the Back-country,  as well as their T-shirt Size. 

As with everything scouting, safety is key! So please make sure to have current medical forms, in order and complete, so when we check you Friday evening.  You are asked to bring a printout of your attendees.  This printout should include, at a minimum, first & last names, emergency contact information, and if a youth, their rank.  This can be an event printout from unit's Troopmaster or similar tracking system.  Please have a separate printout for Back-country participants.  Having these items will allow the process to flow smoothly.

The cost for this great event is $15 per person, but you'll recieve a discount of $5 for those who register before March 5, 2017.  

  • DAW T-Shirts may be purchased with early registration for $12 ($2 extra for 2XL and 3XL)

At check-in, each unit will need to turn in a complete list of all attendees (front & back country), a BSA Annual Health and Medical record for all attendees, proof of YPT for each adult, and show proof of your tour permit.
