2017 REPORT TO STATE - PARADE EVENT PLAN

DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS”

 

Join the 68th annual Boy Scout Parade, Report to the State of Texas and

       kick-off the 107th anniversary celebration of the Scouting movement!

 

Line on Congress Avenue Bridge by 8:30 am.

Parade Steps off at 9:00 am 

Eagle Rededication Ceremony  for Eagles of all ages - 9:30 a.m. on the South Steps of the Capitol

SPIRIT RALLY 10 am on South Steps of Capitol 

Report to State Band for Musically Inclined Scouts

Virtual Geocaching & PokeMon on the Capitol Grounds

There is no cost to participate in the parade but your unit can pre-order a souvenir patch for $8 for each participant. Pick up your patches at the NW Corner of Congress & Cesar Chavez outside the Radisson Hotel. Pick up and sign for your unit packet of souvenirs by unit number. 

Please encourage patch sales among your unit membership. Patch sales are the only income stream for this event and determines its success and continuation. Rising costs to operate the parade are the sole reason for $8 patches. Adult Leaders can register multiple youth members for patches and participation. All patches will be placed in a UNIT PACKET for pick up. Individuals will need to get their souvenirs out of their UNIT PACKET. 

Patch sales help fund $30,000 in parade expenses. Sponsors for this event are needed and encouraged to contact Rick Denison, 512-617-8627, to help promote their cause and help offset some of the hard costs associated with this parade.

After the parade, we invite you to visit some of the many historical and local points of interest in the Capital City so this is a memorable and educational event for your Scouts and their families.

FLOAT AND MARCHING UNIT REGISTRATION:

Please register your unit to let us know if you are a marching unit or if you are bringing a float; and purchase patches for your participants!!
