NRA Co-Op Basic Muzzleloading Rifle & Instructor Training

Activity Dates: 2/2-3; 2/16-17/2019

 Pre-registration Requirement: These courses are open only to Scouters who have already completed the NRA Basic Instructor Training Course (BIT) and Rifle Instructor Course. This set of courses includes both a basic and instructor course. The NRA *now* requires the completion of a basic course before enrollment in an Instructor course.  You must attend both weekends to become certified.

Description: This course gives the students the skills, knowledge and attitude to become a muzzleloading rifle instructor who can teach the basic muzzleloading shooting program.

Cost: $80.00 for the course. Participants will be required to pay a certification fee to the NRA at the completion of the Instructor course.

Class Size: This course is open to the first 12 who register.

Dates, Times and Locations: 

·         Saturday, Feb 2 -- 8:00 am to 6:30 pm at the Fickett Center

·         Sunday, Feb. 3 –-  9:00 am – 5:00 pm at Lindsay Lodge and the muzzleloading range at                                            Lost Pines

·         Saturday, Feb.16 --8:00 am to 6:30 pm at the Fickett center

·         Sunday, Feb.17 –- 9:00 am – 5:00 pm at Wooten Lodge and the muzzleloading range at                                            Lost Pines.

What's Included: The courses includes all NRA Muzzleloading manuals & the Muzzleloading Handbook.

What to Bring: If you own a muzzleloading rifle, you can bring it and associated supplies to the training when we are out at Lost Pines. If you don't own a muzzleloading rifle, council firearms will be available.

NRA Certification Fee: After completing the course, there will be a fee to the NRA for certification. The fee will be $30-$50 depending on whether or not you are a NRA member.
